Just like clothing and fashion tattooing a form of body art has also entered into the world of fashion and made separate position although it has been practiced by humans in some form or another for thousand of years. Kanji are not really a traditional Japanese tattoo but it is a style of writing practiced mostly by Japanese people that with time has become a popular form of tattoo. Though such form of tattoo is popular in the West but do not always make sense or impress the people who speak or read Japanese or Chinese fluently. So if you are deciding to get a kanji be sure that what you are getting done is something meaningful because of the fact that one word can mean two completely different things in Japanese language.
