I dont know if youve ever heard the term injury solicitor before, but Ill explain you exactly what it is. An injury solicitor is actually a lawyer who handles personal injury compensation claim cases. Lets go into a little bit more detail now.

First of all, what are these personal injury compensation claims? Sounds a little bit complicated, but it actually isnt complicated at all. An injury compensation claim is a legal procedure with the help of which you can get compensation for the injuries or material losses you suffered in an accident that wasnt your fault.

The most frequent types of accidents that result in claiming procedures are the road accident and the accident at work. Usually, in cases of road accidents, its pretty clear who the responsible part is. In work accidents, if an event happens because of bad equipment maintenance or unsafe factory environment, the party to blame is the management staff.

Anyway, if you get involved in an accident, make sure that you call an accident solicitor right away. He will tell you in your first meeting how strong your case is and how big your REAL chances of winning the cases are. Also, he will give you an estimate of the amount of compensation you are likely to get, based on the seriousness of your injuries and the property losses youve suffered.

You will have to go to regular medical examinations. This has to be done for two reasons. First of all, and most important, is of course your health. The injuries you suffered may have unpleasant side effects that you wont discover if you dont go to those regular medical examinations at least a few months after the accident. Secondly, this is good for your claim and the amount of compensation you are likely to get in the end. Not only it proves the injuries youve sustained, but you can even get compensation for the future medical expenses you would have to make. And yes, that covers even the medical examinations expenses.

And those regular appointments to the doctor are the most important thing that you have to do during a claim. What else you should do? Well, you should rest and make sure that you recover from your injuries. Because, remember, you hired a very competent injury solicitor.

Meanwhile, your lawyer will do everything in his powers to make sure that he gathers as much evidence as possible which will be used to back up your case. As a side note, I should tell you this: at the moment of the accident, if your injuries allow you to, make sure that you gather as many pieces of evidence as you can from the accident scene. This applies especially to road accidents, where there are many variables that lead to a traffic event. For example, you must note everything from the weather conditions present at the time of the incident to the lighting on the street it happened (if it happened in the city, of course). Also, dont get into a useless argument with the other driver, it will only do you harm. Especially avoid to admit blame for the accident or to put the blame on the other drivers shoulders for that matter. Just stay calm.

Anyway, back to our injury solicitor. The evidence you may be able to provide your solicitor with is always a very welcome addition to the case and although he will double check everything, its always a good starting point. As a matter of fact, he will ask you if you managed to gather evidence in the preliminary interview.

From now on, you just need to be patient and wait. Before I conclude this article, I should also mention that the injury specialists work on a no win no fee commission principle. This means exactly what the name suggests: he wins the case, he gets financial reward. He doesnt win the case, he gets nothing. Its a relatively new type of procedure and it has changed the way in which people perceive claiming drastically. Before no win no fee, people had serious doubts when deciding to work with a lawyer. Now, that prejudice is beginning to fade away as more and more people find this conditional fee agreement very appealing. They are not afraid to pick up the phone and call an injury solicitor anymore.
