When you go on vacation there is only so many things that will make or break your trip. I am not trying to say that you can always pick the perfect conditions for your trip, but since there is now simple access to online weather reports and weather forecasts, you can get a good idea of what you are in for, and when your trip is still in the planning stages, you can actually access historical weather data and trends to see what you may encounter and what you need to look out for in a particular region.
