How to deal with puffy eyes

Eyelids are very sensitive and can easily become irritated, red and puffy, but don’t gloom; it is easier to get rid of puffy eyes than you may grasp minor inflammation. Minor puffiness is the kind that you notice when you wake up, but is then reduced. Here you will find some simple methods to ease the inflammation so you can get on with your life. Common symptoms are puffiness or swelling of the upper and lower eyelids, usually in the morning, occasional itching and/or redness, not able to open or close the eyes. When the body gets dehydrated it begins storing up water, which can cause puffy eyes. Drinking alcohol or eating salty foods before going to sleep, insufficient sleep, allergies, (If your puffy eyes are accompanied by redness and itching, the cause may be associated with an allergy), aging, hormonal changes, (the days just before and during menstruation cause hormone levels to fluctuate), high blood pressure can result in swelling. A rash on the skin which just affects the eyelids, drugs such as lithium can also result in swollen eyes. Heredity can be another cause.

A puffy eye therapy is something everyone needs at some time or another. Knowing why your eyes get inflamed looking is the first step in solving this problem. Secondly, you need to find some remedies and treatments to either get rid of the puffiness or at least to hide it. The most evident cure for puffy eyes is to keep away from these causes. Yet, it is easy to see how that can be difficult. Have a puffy eye remedy ready for when they do creep up on you. There are creams that you can use to help hide and allay this condition.

Put cucumbers over your eyes while lying down. You can also use a slice of a raw potato. Leave it there for at least 15 minutes. Just humidify a cotton cloth with witch hazel and place over your eyes for at least 15 minutes. A tea bag is also a puffy eye remedy. Apply a tea bag that has been used over the eye. It contains a natural element called tannin in it which will work to lighten the puffiness quickly. Relax for at least 5 minutes. If you have puffy eyes in the morning, this is usually due to deficient in sleep.

Try to wear a mask that is packed with cold water or gel for a few minutes when you wake up in the morning. Enfold pieces of ice in paper towel and place them on your eyelids for a few minutes. The cold will reduce the swelling. Keep your eye creams in the refrigerator. The cool cream will help decrease your swollen eyes. When applying the cream, smoothly valve it onto your eyelid with your ring finger.
