Your Home Based Business Expenses, Is This Your Story?

What an incredible feeling it is when you first start out in
your home based business venture, or should I say adventure.
Yes, there is an excitement when we first start out. We are
full of optimism for future growth in learning the internet
business world and making money to live the so-called "good
life". The affiliate program we have joined or the products that
we are selling we are very enthused with. What a lot to learn in
this industry, but you take it all in.

Then after six months you realize that the internet business
world is very competitive. You have not made any money yet and
are wondering what you must do to make money. Your expenses are
mounting up and now you tell your spouse that it takes time to
understand the internet and you have got to pay your dues. It is
true that it takes time to make money, but the program you are
in has provided you with the tools to gain success, and yet,
the money is not there. You then start to look around the
internet for help and you grab a hold on a so-called guru.

This guru you feel is the answer to your prayers and he or she
is going to lead you to the bank vault. What happens next is the
guru wants you to join other programs and buy their ebook(s).
You are told by them how much they know and how much they can
help you reach the pot of gold. Nothing is really happening and
it is now a year you have been in business. Money is still in
the hands of others and you are jumping from one thing to
another, and still the so-called guru says "Let me keep leading
the way for I know where the money is and how to attain it".

Now it is tax time and you are at your desk calculating all the
costs of your past years expenses. The calculator spits out the
number and you almost fall off your chair and say "It cannot
be". You have spent a small fortune, enough to go on a good
vacation. Your spouse walks in and asks how you are doing. "We
are getting a return this year" you say. In your mind you say,
"I better not tell why or I will look like a fool, now what is
it I have to do".

Let's stop right there with this story. Many of you are probably
laughing at this person. It is either from experience and you
relate to it or you are so good at making money this has never
happened to you.

If you find your expenses have sky rocketed stop what you are
doing right now. Take a look at what you are trying to achieve.
Your goal is to make money not give it away. What do you do now?
Here ways to take stock of what is happening to you.

1) Do not follow people into program after program. Do not buy
all the ebooks a guru wants you to have.

2) You can only do so much work. Do NOT spread yourself so thin
that you cannot do any of them well.

3) Join a program or sell products you are excited about.

4) Sit down and calculate how much money you can reasonably
afford each month and STICK to it. I want you to make a big
sign that says "I only have X amount of money each month and
I will abide by it".

5) Ask yourself these questions: Will this help me with what I
am doing or cause me to go in a different direction?
Do I REALLY need to do this?
Will this take too much of my time?
Is this worth my time and money?
Does this provide quality and have good content?

You can see by questioning first you will make better choices.
The time you have to make money is precious so never let someone
else take that time by coercing you in a different direction.
You are the steward of your own money so make sure nobody sways
your thinking. Marketing is exactly that, information to sway
your thinking into purchasing.

Continue to discipline your urges to join and purchase other
peoples products and programs. When you do this you will keep
your expenses at a sustainable level until you start making
money with your home based business.
