The most wonderful region in the Eastern Europe
Ukraine is situated in Central Europe and it is a unitary state. There are 24 provinces which named “oblast” are comprised into that country, but there are also two urban areas that are considered to be separate provinces: the capital of Ukraine – Kiev and Sevastopol. Ukraine became a semi-presidential republic only several years ago. This is the consequence of an orange revolution of 2004. The system of power in the country has been modified with the power spread between different branches of government. Ukraine has a common boundary with 10 countries. These countries are Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Hungary, Moldova and Slovakia. There are Crimea and Carpathian mountains in Ukraine, Carpathian are significantly higher then Crimea mountains. River Dnieper flows through the imaginary center of Ukraine and separate it into two nearly equal parts. Thanks to the river Ukraine has the most of its hydroelectric energy. The winters thanks to the soft climate are not very cold. It snows frequently and most lakes get covered by ice. The rain is frequently observed in summertime commonly but in general, summers are very hot.
Agriculture is the sphere which is quite developed in that region. It is produced by such favorable climate terms. Ukraine is considered to be one of the most significant exporters of sugar. In common, the country develops a lot of produce: maize, corn, vegetables, fruit, etc. Kiev is the capital of Ukraine and the largest city of this country. It dates its history since the 5th century. It was the little settlement that developed into the center of Slavic civilization in the Eastern Europe. After it was occupied by Mongols in the 13th century and fully destroyed, it lost its eminence for a long time. In the 20th century Kiev was the metropolis of Ukrainian Soviet Republic that was included into the Soviet Union. It was a great chance for Kiev to become a world known city again. The population of Kiev is growing at a high speed and according to the census data in 2003 it was nearly 3 million people. We can not even approximately estimate the amount of various nationalities which are comprised into that wonderful city. More than 120 ethnic groups live there. The government of the Soviet Union developed the building of the real estate in Kiev that was the result of extremely increasing population. After the independence there appeared modern condominiums, expensive restaurants and five star hotels.
Ukraine economy gains power after the time of post Soviet troubles. Nowadays Ukraine is very respectable country that is known not as a part of the Soviet Union, but as independent country. Experienced economical foretellers say that Ukraine will become a member of WTO in a very short period.
